In About Us

We’re following up with last year’s REV winners to talk about their REV experience, give advice to those who plan to apply, and share and how their business has changed since REV 2016.

Describe your business in two sentences
Terva is a web-based marketplace for buying, selling & renting farmland. Our vision is to be the Zillow of farmland.

Tell us about your REV experience – what stood out, what did you like?
REV isn’t just another flashy pitch competition; it’s an opportunity to connect with honest people who genuinely want to help. TS Bank created an environment that was competitive, yet welcoming. A highlight for me was connecting with the various attendees during the pre-pitch mini trade-show. There are several people I met that night who I still converse with today. Having a solid community of people that will lend a helping hand, even long after the event ends makes it well worth the experience.

How did you use the prize money? Has it changed anything?
The money has helped tremendously! We were able to double the funds received through a matching program – making it last much longer. The dollars were used for software development, which enabled us to launch our online services in May!

Any updates on the business – new features in general?
With just a couple of clicks, landowners can view every upcoming farmland sale in Iowa & see several past transactions so they know what land values are doing. We’re gearing up to launch a suite of farmland marketing tools, which will empower landowners with the information & confidence necessary to sell their own land.

What advice would you give anyone who plans to apply this year?
Successful founders are people who have a bias for action & make things happen. Simply share your story, show your passion & state what action you’ve taken to turn your idea into a reality. You’ll be great!
