We’re following up with last year’s REV winners to talk about their REV experience, give advice to those who plan to apply, and share and how their business has changed since REV 2016
Describe your business in two sentences:
We make gourmet caramel apples so good...they’re Wicked!
Tell us about your REV experience. What stood out? What did you like?
What stood out to me was the extent to which TS Bank invested in the contestants. By the time the competition was over, I felt like I knew their employees, and it truly felt like they were pulling for us!
How did you use the prize money? Did it change anything?
Winning the money absolutely changed things for us! We invested in 2 additional refrigerators for large order storage. We were able to pay vendor fees for our Spring events, and most importantly, we will be moving into our commercial kitchen in early September!
Any updates on the business? New features in general?
Updates on Wicked Caramel Apples...let’s see...we continue to support people in need with donations to causes and fundraising events each month. Staff appreciation events seem to have become our forte as of late, and we LOVE customizing our apples to meet brands or color schemes when we can! And, Apple Crisp remains our top-selling apple. ;)
What advice would you give to anyone who plans to apply this year?
GO FOR IT! Seriously, what do you have to lose? I was TOTALLY out of my comfort zone at the finale, but I made it through. If you’ve got a great product, give yourself the opportunity to take it to the next level. TS Bank is an amazing institution, and they are there to support you all the way! At the risk of sounding cliche, you’ll never know until you try.
How can someone view your product?
Well, because we’ve been CRAZY BUSY, we’re still relying on our Facebook page to promote our Wicked Caramel Apples. Come see us on our page. Watch the page to learn which events we’ll be at and be sure to come out and try some! Or, better yet, order some for yourself and friends!
